The "Obon" Festival of Japan



 





Japanese Bon Festival, alias "Obon"Festiva or "aurabon that it is intended to honor the spirits of the ancestors.At the time of  Bon Festival it's customary as families to visit the graves of family members, and clean.  The Japanese belief that ancestors as well visit altars in the houses of their relatives. There are offers, even massacres, generally food, such fruits or vegetables.

The Festival takes place in dissimilar period of time in different regions by the country. Earlier, the Festival was established according to  lunar calendar, merely when Japan shifted the history of Gregorian calendar by the Festival has moved in some regions but not in everywhere. Altogether, in that respect are three different moments of the day,  nearly often celebrated during the15th day of the 7th month, first  in July or August. Still, some people also observed  Bon Festival  on the basis  lunar calendar, which some how changes each year.

Upcoming preparation for Obon Festival, cleaning own homes and leave  food,fruts and vegetables  to botsodan or change in the House. Botsodan is a wooden wardrobe with doors that may  protect the gohonzon, which makes up usually painted, or perhaps a Buddha statue that is put   inside. May include all other religious elements placed in the mandala, burning incense, bells, Memorial University degree and platform presentations. Beginning day of Obon lit lanterns at home, and some parts of the country allowing aflame burning outdoor the entrance to their home to help lead the spirits home. On the end day of the Festival, the coming back of people to the tombs of their ancestors to the spirits of their ancestors. family members leave lanterns painted on the sign and mark  of the family in the Tomb or burning fire outside their homes to assist guide the spirits of the burial. At that time of year, theuse of aroma  incense or Cinco, on air also inward homes.










Audrey Bonn, dancers floating lights are an significant symbolic customs on the Festival, Bonn, is the popular dance to invited the spirits. Dance, or Audrey Bonn, varies by region to region, but usually involve individuals form a circle around the wood scaffolding called yagora and dancing in the direction clockwise or anti clock wise training but in some areas the dance reflects something special in this region. May regard the dancers dances with fans, wooden, or plates multi-color decorated towels.
     


They are common during the Bon Festival float lanterns in a river close to the ocean. Is the belief that the spirit of the deceased floats off the power on the candle lit lanterns are guided by other world.   Japanese belief that people come to the waters of the lanterns symbolize body, back into the water.
